What's New for Kids?


Baby and Toddler Storytime   
Every Wed, 10am

Park Branch Library, Mission and Sixth Street

You and your baby or toddler will hear short stories, sing songs, learn fingerplays and rhymes, and have fun. Afterward, we gather at the craft tables to color and socialize with Miss. Grace. This program runs weekly from the beginning of September through the end of May. Please note that Baby and Toddler Storytime will start up again on Wednesday Sept.3rd.

Drawing Class with Dante Rondo

Park Branch Library, Mission and Sixth Street

Come explore just how much you can get into your black and white drawings using graphite pencils on paper. Expand your abilities in using line, shading, tone and contrast to make more expressive and masterful art. All art  supplies included. For ages 9 - 14. Thursday Sept.18, from 3:15-4:30.

HelpNow - Online Homework Help

Do you need help with your homework? How about a writing lab to help you write better term papers and reports? Or maybe you need a little extra help understanding a math concept. You can even get help with your Spanish homework.

Bookflix - Online Stories

The library subscribes to a fun reading program that you and your child can access from home. Scholastic BookFlix is an online literacy resource that pairs classic video storybooks from Weston Woods with related nonfiction eBooks from Scholastic to build a love of reading and learning. This engaging resource for children in grades PreK - 3 will help early readers develop and practice essential reading skills and introduces students to a world of knowledge and exploration.

Teen Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to assist staff with fun and easy projects. We are friendly, easy going, and want to help you complete those community service hours required for graduation. Please contact Grace at 646-4664 if you are interested. Volunteer - it will look great on your college application.
