What's New for Kids?

Baby and Toddler Storytime
Every Wednesday, 10 am

Miss GracePark Branch Library, Mission & Sixth

Hear stories, sing songs, learn fingerplays and rhymes, and have fun. Afterward, we gather at the craft tables to color and socialize with Miss Grace. Weekly, September through May. Please note we take a break for the summer. Storytime will return on Wednesday Sept. 7th.

"Read for the Win" Summer Reading Program from June 6 - July 16

We have lots of fun programs and prizes planned for you! Here is our line-up of special programs:

Wednesday June 29th at 1:30pm - Cascada de Flores presents a bilingual music and dance program with Mexican and Latin American roots. All ages.

Wednesday July 6th at 1:30pm - Puppet Art presents two puppet shows, featuring the "Tortoise and the Hare" and "Three Billy Goats Gruff". Fun for the whole family!

Wednesday July 13th at 1:30pm - Jstme, known off-stage as Timothy Scott Jr. - teaches skills such as mindfulness in a way that commands kid's attention through his original beats, positive rhymes and hip hop. For ages 9 - 14 years old. Please pre-register.

Thursday July 14th from 1:30-3pm - Dante Rondo will be here to teach a drawing class for ages 9 - 14 years old. All materials supplied by the library. Please pre-register.

Saturday July 16th at 1:30pm -  To finish off our summer reading program, we will have a visit from The Great Jonathan! This magic show will be fun for the whole family.

HelpNow - Online Homework Help

BrainfuseDo you need help with your homework? How about a writing lab to help you write better term papers and reports? Or maybe you need a little extra help with your Spanish homework or with understanding a math concept.

All you need is your library card to use the online tutoring service HelpNow. To get started, click on HelpNow and receive one-on-one help from an expert tutor (available from 1 to 10 pm).

 

Teen Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to assist staff with fun and easy projects. We want to help you complete those community service hours required for graduation. Please call Grace at 624-4664 if you are interested. Volunteer - it will look great on your college application.
