Friends of Harrison Memorial Library
Friends of Harrison Memorial Library is a non-profit volunteer organization
established in 1972 to provide support for library activities and help purchase needed
books and equipment.
The major fundraiser of this group is the wonderful book sale, held for three days
during the month of August in Carmel.
Ongoing Book Sale
The Friends has a cart of select used books for sale in the first Murphy House, 6th
and Lincoln, near the Main Library. Proceeds from the sale of these books benefit the
Library. The First Murphy House is open Fri - Sat from 1 - 4 P.M.

text books, records, or magazines, please.
In addition to the fundraiser, the Friends promote awareness of the library in our
community by hosting author programs for the public and sponsoring a bookmark contest
for area youth.
Members of the Friends of the Library receive announcements of author programs and
an invitation to the "Friend's Preview" for the annual book sale.
